chels:

I first heard about the Invisible Children movement in college. It was 2003 and someone brought it up in one of my International Studies courses. I was horrified to learn that Ugandan children were running away from home at night to sleep in fields so they wouldn’t be abducted into a crazy man’s army. I remember attending a rally and sleeping in the quad, which was supposed to show support for the victims of Joseph Kony’s lunacy. It mostly ended up being a chance to make out with the guy you thought was cute from your discussion lab or whatever, but in the end, it did raise awareness about the problem. And then somewhere along the way, I forgot how outraged I was and I moved on to other things. But this guy, he and his friends never stopped pushing to be heard. It took them 8 years, but they finally got all the way to the President, who has pledged military support to stop the LRA from stealing children and forcing them to kill.

Watch this film. Hear their stories. And then find a way to participate in this. Even this simple reblog, which I’m happy to be able to do, will get the word out faster than some college campus sleepover. It takes less effort, but the internet is amazingly powerful and hopefully this story can grab the attention of millions and keep lawmakers working to end Kony’s regime.

Please watch this. After seeing this video Christ put a burden on my heart to share it, to make the biggest impact I can to help this movement and help suffering kids in Africa. A man named Koby is kidnapping thousands of kids in Africa and are being sold as sex slaves and used as child soldiers. He is still out there and still continuing such evil. Most people don’t know the issue or even know this is going on. Therefore we must keep the public aware so we can let the government know this IS still a big issue in our eyes & they need to continue to keep fighting to do everything we can to end it. Use your voice ! Every single one counts.

Faith is seeing light when your eyes only see darkness.

Differences in human beings.

Never knock a person for having an over abundance of a quality.
Such as someone who’s very uptight.
We need extremely uptight people to balance out the extremely laid back ones.
Instead of fighting with eachother about how one person never does a certain action,
Work together.
Each of you do what you’re best at.
You’ll notice things will get done more efficiently & organized without all the headaches on “whose turn is it now”.
See, the world is all about balance & working together as a whole.
Society forgets that sometimes.
We tend to degrade others that our different from ourselves.
But our characteristics weren’t designed to all be the same.
They’re all different for a reason.
We all have our talents, and things were not so good at.
Try to surround yourself with the people you can complete, not compete.

What do you think of when you hear ‘Christmas’?

When you hear Christmas, what do you think of?
My guess is Santa, reindeer, presents, cookies, jinglebells…
While all those things are lovely, it’s not what Christmas is meant to be about.
Christmas is a celebration of Jesus Christ being born.
He is the reason our sins are forgiven & we will get eternal life if we trust in Him.
That is the ultimate gift we can ever receive, yet why is everything but that & Jesus not thought of?
Christmas Is turning more into a commercial holiday than anything.
Santa, even his reindeer, & now Justin Beiber are being glorified for a day that was given solely to represent our Lord & Savior.
The reason I said Justin Beiber is because there was a trending topic on twitter called “beiberchristmas”.
That’s so wrong on so many levels.
He is just a person with flaws who gives us nothing but some music & another face to look at, Jesus is a God, who is perfect & gave us His life to save ours.
If more people idolized Jesus as much as they do Justin Beiber, this world would be a much better place.

The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Ignorance

Everyone has their own views, opinions, & beliefs.

Ignorance is when you don’t respect that idea.

We’re “individuals’ for a reason. We’re made to be different. So, why are we all trying to reflect one specific image thats put out in the media? Why when we act ourselves, we’re ridiculed? Why can’t people respect the fact that we’re all made different and allow us to be who we really are?

I’m sure you want to be respected, so give the world what you would want for yourself. Change starts from the inside and works outward. If you start to think more respectfully, your actions will show it. Changing the world for the better starts with one person at a time, it starts with yourself.

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love.
